The origin of our community
We were determined to take control of our community's character and its future. In 1980, we officially became the Concerned Taxpayers of Wheatley Heights, and soon established ourselves as the voice of the Wheatley Heights community. We were incorporated in 1984 and in 1993, we added the name Dix Hills because residents residing in the Town of Babylon with Dix Hills addresses had no organization to speak for them. Wheatley Heights is a unique community surrounded by Wyandanch, Deer Park, and Dix Hills. Our school district is Half Hollow Hills. Currently, we share our postal zipcode with Wyandanch, as well as our fire and ambulance services. At present, one of our key campaigns is aimed at establishing a separate ZIP Code designation for Wheatley Heights.
